‘Holistic’ means whole or the sum of all its parts.
‘Health’ is a balance, referred to as ‘homeostasis’, of all the different systems of the body. When the various systems of the human body are balanced and functioning optimally, energy levels are high and there’s an inner feeling of well-being, vitality and happiness.
So Holistic Health is the optimal function of your digestive system, your musculo-skeletal system, your immune system, your endocrine (hormonal) system, your nervous system, your detoxification system, your cardiovascular system and your reproductive system. But don’t take my word for it ! One of the first and most important steps toward getting fit, healthy and happy is to identify what your motivation is i.e. Whats your dream ?
Why will being healthy benefit you ? If you were super healthy what would that allow you to achieve ? What makes you happy ? What would you like to be remembered for ? What would you like to be your legacy ?
By having a big enough dream you have direction, a purpose, a reason and motivation to keep eating healthily, exercising intelligently and regularly and to make time in your life to look after yourself in such a way that, one day, you’ll be able to live your dreams…
